City Bar, Bangalore in a nutshell

[Artists, Events]

Hennessy artistry kicked off the chilly season in the country with a touch of class as a tag team of international and local artists played at the City Bar for one of the best weekend parties in Bangalore. Mumbai-based DJ M.Mat, Delhi fire starter Tapan Raj and Berlin duo The Mole and vocalist Elif Bicer all took turns to step up and deliver a fantastic night for Bangalore live music scene lovers.

City Bar in Bangalore sported a festive look as Mumbai-based Transhuman Collective artist Soham Sarkar’s visual installation ensured that the Hennessy flags fluttered even before the artists checked into the venue.

M.Mat from the Bhavishyavani crew, who recently celebrated a decade of actively pushing India’s electronic music scene, kicked off proceedings, dropping an opening set that was high on the groove. His beats complemented the evening’s proceedings perfectly, where Bangalore live music scene fans had already gathered to check out the artists on display.

Next up, Canadian artist and Berlin resident The Mole known for his disco-tinged house and techno productions teamed with vocalist Elif Bicer, who is signed on the legendary Berlin label Ostgut Ton. The duo characteristically weaved together sounds that brought an element of interactivity to the gig, with Bicer’s background in jazz and hip-hop influencing her performances on stage.

And to cap off one of the best weekend parties in Bangalore, the city’s live music scene witnessed one half of the Midival Punditz, Tapan Raj get behind the decks for a slamming breaks set. To mix things up for Bangalore live music scene lovers, Tapan and M.Mat also played a fun back-to-back set. The duo teased and entertained the crowd in equal measure ending the gig on a wonderfully high note.
