Arjun Vagale is arguably one of the most in-demand DJs in India. As one of the country’s biggest EDM exports, he plays over 100 gigs a year, touring regularly in Europe and Asian, often spends his summers in the world’s techno Mecca, Berlin. A man with a true passion for underground music, which he relentlessly plays, produces and promotes. No wonder he was awarded Best Techno DJ and DJ Of the Year (2011-12). Here, he shares with us the tunes that have been keeping him grooving recently.

&Me – Matters (Original Mix)                                                                                                                                                                                                        Released on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved imprint, this tune is deep, and amazingly groovy, typical of the &Me style. ‘Matters’ is so damn hot, I’ve been dropping it in my sets from the moment I heard it for the first time. It’s great for the club and for the iPod.

Ronan Portela – Lo Cut

I’m a massive fan of Ronan, and this is right up there with his best work. It will release on Dubfire’s label, but I’m not entirely sure about the release date.

Telepopmusik – Breathe (Moodwax’s Love for the Herb Remix)

A bootleg by Sanju Hargun from BBK, ‘Breathe’ is a dope, deep, dancy rework of the classic.

Anil Chawla, Dale Anderson & Arjun Vagale – Untitled

I think we named this track Around Nine, or did we decide to change it? I really can’t remember but it’s a big-room, bouncy, dance floor monster.

Pirupa – Party Non Stop (Vocal)

Proper Party track on Loco Dice’s Desolat label. If you want to get the night going, plug this one into the system and you’ll get in the mood.

Arjun Vagale – Voltaic

A melodic deep techno track that I produced while I was in Berlin last year, ‘Voltaic’ is totally influenced by my trip to the world’s electronic music capital. It should be out later this year on the excellent Hummingbird imprint.

Alex Dolby and Santos – Orange Wafer (Gregor Tresher Remix)

A brilliant new track on Octopus Recordings, Gregor Tresher has been on fire of late.

Apparat – The Devil’s Walk

The whole album’s just amazing. It might be a bit dated but I just put it back on my iPod and the deep soundscapes really inspire me.

Butch – Rawhide

A vinyl-only release that I was fortunate to get my hands on, this track is huge. Look it up on youtube and then come to a gig where I’m DJing and it’ll blow you away.

James Teej – Spending life (Affkt & Danny Fiddo Remix)

A three-year old tune that I recently rediscovered, the remix does a great job of tweaking the vocals from the original and the excellent groove and percussions make this one a winner.
